Bio
Jill Steele joined the Vincennes University Athletic Department in Fall 2024 as Head Cheerleading Coach. She leads the Trailblazer cheer team in their vital role as “the team behind the team,” serving as crowd leaders, energizers, and ambassadors for school spirit. Coach Steele emphasizes leadership, accountability, and a strong work ethic, encouraging her athletes to be role models both on campus and in the community.
In addition to her coaching role, Steele has served as Vincennes University’s Director of Diverse Abilities and Accommodations since 2017. She holds an Associate Degree in Behavioral Sciences from Vincennes University, a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Southern Indiana, and a Master’s Degree in Public Service Administration from the University of Evansville.
Before joining VU, Steele coached at the high school level. Her passion for cheerleading began in middle school and continued through high school, where she gained experience as a flyer. She and her husband, Steve Steele of Vincennes, have three adult children: Aaron, Sebastian, and Abby.
